| Lightless Days
The sky turns dark
its light slowly slipping away
the sun's rays fading from sight
an end has come, leaving only night.
Final traces of orange and red embark
sinking into blue and violet
the sadness overwhelming
deafened to this foretelling.
The tears slowly begin
you're not here to catch them
looking up to the stars
knowing that you're not far.
Your voice, how it slips through the trees
can only bring a smile
a smile drowned in tears
can no longer worry, no more fears.
Just wait, the years will pass
may be a lifetime, maybe less
just wait, I'll be there
I have something to take care.
Wait for me
I know time is of the essence but
when all is done, they'll all fall
we'll be alone, we'll have it all.
