PRELUDE No 40
i will speak to no one of this sadness
though burn tonight the sandalwood
and the soul soaked in wine stuporous
i will speak to no one
of what i've seen
after a long journey
to a far distant place
ancient eyes immense
wordless ...
i will not allow anyone to gather
flowers withered
left by someone
in past's midst
all remembrances are dazzling as gold ...
i will speak to no one of a romance uncommon
of princess White Cloud and a poet extraordinaire
knowing ghosts and demons
can never take their love away
i will not let heard the lost cries
of the little fawn - innocent
strayed from its mother last night
far from the pack ...
the enchanted forest fire raged the skies
tonight the sandalwood fumes shattered
this chalice of wine but mine to drink
